End Fed One Half Wavelength

This page presents a study of a half wave end fed antenna.   antenna is presented on another page.  The gain of the half wave end fed antenna is much lower than the full wave end fed and its terminal impedance is higher. 3D antenna pattern, Horizontal Polarization. Antenna oriented along the X axis as usual. In this case the radiation is nearly broadside with a gain of 0.36 dBi at a take off angle of 30 degrees (considerably lower that he full wave endfed antenna). There is a small amount of vertically polarized power radiated off the end (end fire).

Frequency Response: Optimized in 4nec2 for 14 MHz operation.

Impedance @ Resonance = 3000 Ohm. Notice that the frequency response is normalized to Zo = 3000 Ohm which explains the 1:1 SWR at resonance.  A transformer is required to match the antenna to 50 Ohm.
Total Gain (Vertical Plane) Azimuth angle = 30 degrees (broadside radiation)
